Boker's Leo Damascus... the legendary Damascus steel forged out of the barrel
of the famous German battletank, Leopard.
The exceeding characteristics
of this high performance Damascus steel were responsible for the enourmous response
it received in the international knife market. With the presentation of the
Leo Damascus IV, we are setting a new standard in processing handforged high
end Damscus steels by introducing the first Leo Damascus fixed blade.
Boker's Damascus forger
combines three different steels (carbon tool steels and ball-bearing steel)
with the Leopard's gun barrel steel to create a completely unique blade material.
In a very complex and technically demanding forging process, he creates a Damascus
steel with 600 layers. For the Damascus pattern, Boker was inspired by nature's
own design and chose the pattern of the fascinating leopard's coat.
In this unique leopard pattern,
the four different steels give it an extraordinarily eyecatching appearance.
This Boker Leo IV Damascus steel produces blades that have superior cutting
capabilities, with a Rockwell hardness of 65-67° HRC! The manufacturing
of these exclusive knives happens in a one-a-pice production, which is known
so far only by knifemakers. In a successful cooperation with the German knifemaker
Teyke, each knife is individually handcrafted in our manufacturing facility
in Solingen, Germany.
The handle scales are made
of carefully selected Burl Rosewood, fittet by hand to each and every blade.
Due to the exclusive materials used, the cross-guard is made of 925 sterling
silver, as are the rivets holding the handle scales to the tapered tang blade.
The double-sided handle inlays are also made of the 600-layer Leo IV Damascus
steel and may be used for engraving. This knife is strictly limited to just
250 pieces worldwide. Each knife is unique, serialized and comes in a wooded
presentation box with a certificate of authenticity. Also includes a high quality
leather sheath from England.
