The Speed Assist Razor Knife [SARK] by Meyerco is the only speed-assisted folding utility knife of all the folding razor knives out there. Designed by noted knife designer Blackie Collins. The blade motion is initiated by pushing on the thumbstud as you would any one-hand opening, manual folding knife. The speed assist strut mechanism takes over and drives the blade the rest of the way to the fully open and locked position. This button lock locks the blade up tight with no play to either side. The SARK is also constructed with an adjustable blade stop to fine-tune the knife. The button itself is recessed into the handle scale to prevent accidental unlocking while in use. The SARK features a handle of molded Zytel thermoplastic and is of a very ergonomic shape, which allows the handle to lie in your grasp comfortably. Rounded edges of the gripping area makes this folding utility knife extremely comfortable to use. The stainless steel blade holder has dual thumbstuds for easy blade access. Changing blades requires no tools at all and is so simple, it works faster than any other tool-less utility razor knife. The leaf spring on the left hand side of the blade holder has a peg on the end of it which fits into a corresponding hole in the holder, passing through one of the slots in the utility blade. Pull the leaf spring and pivot it out of the way, and the blade will slide out. Insert the fresh blade and move the leaf spring back into place. Doing so inserts the peg back into the hole, capturing the blade. Each SARK is shipped complete with a ballistic nylon belt sheath with a button snap closure flap, and the knife itself is equipped with a removable steel pocket clip should sheath carry not be desired.
