Randall's Adventure & Training (RAT) has been involved with gear development
for many years. From portable power systems, to water filters, to cutlery, we're
always working to design a better product for those who travel amid adversity.
In 2002 they entered into an exclusive collaboration with Ontario Knife Co in
Franklinville, New York to supply a proven set of outdoor knife designs. Ontario
is one of the oldest and largest cutlery industries in existence, supplying
issue knives to the U.S. military as well as a large civilian market. RAT is
proud to be associated with them and feel their offerings bridge the gap between
economy, toughness, and real-world features.
A collaboration between RAT/Ontario. A 7 inch combat/utility knife called
the RAT-7. The RAT-7 features an upgraded Cordura sheath with gear pocket and
Kydex blade liner. It also follows the other RAT designs using Micarta slabbed
ergonomic handles and full flat grind for excellent slicing and cutting efficiency.
Measuring 12" overall, the new RAT-7 boasts a 6.5" cutting edge. It weighs in
at 14 oz., and the blade is .1875" thick.
