PAUL CHEN 1002 BAMBOO STICK KATANA
In 1876 the Samurai were banned from the carrying of swords by the Hito-rei edict of 1876. This attempt to end a thousand-year tradition was not received lightly by the proud warrior class and the "stick katana" was born.
Innocuous walking canes now concealed the revered blades but the katana, the "Soul of the Samurai", lived on. Created by today's Oriental master smiths, the Bamboo Stick Katana combines an artfully carved "Bamboo" scabbard and grip with a razor-sharp blade hand forged and tempered in the style of the originals. Not to be confused with low quality imitations.
